Meet Rob Elking:
I have always had a passion for travel. I worked for a couple of Columbus-based travel agencies while attending college, and I decided to open my own agency in 1989 on Grandview Avenue. As we grew, we needed more space and moved Grandview Travel to its present location on Fifth Avenue in 2003. We are proud to have been members of ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) since we opened. I have also been a member of the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Chamber of Commerce since 1990 and have been past-president and on the board of directors.
My Specializations:
Travels to Greece, France, Italy, Croatia, England, Scotland, Hawaii, the Caribbean, snow skiing vacations, Napa Valley and the Bay Area, Mexico, cruises and other worldwide destinations.
My Favorite Trips:
Skiing in St. Moritz, island hopping in Greece, spending time in the French Riviera, dining in Paris, enjoying the museums and Royal Parks in London, sailing on Windstar Cruises in the Caribbean and down the Adriatic Coast, hiking the mountains in Vail and spending time in Rome and Venice.
My most recent trips have been a return to Paris, England and Scotland, a visit to Portugal in the fall of 2022, a Seabourn Cruise to the Caribbean the winter of 2023, and looking forward to Greece in October of 2023.
My Travel Bucket List:
Going on an African safari, visiting New Zealand (especially the South island), snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, dancing the Tango in Argentina and seeing the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Many more as well!
